Who We Serve

Dovetail is designed for individuals and couples approaching or living in retirement who want their financial life organized with intention.

Most of the families we serve have built meaningful investable assets over decades of work and are transitioning into retirement. They are accustomed to responsibility, thoughtful decision-making, and long-term commitments. As retirement approaches, the questions shift from accumulation to coordination, sustainability, and clarity.

Our work is best suited for those who want retirement decisions handled in a coordinated, comprehensive way rather than addressed one at a time.

Why Coordination Matters in Retirement

Retirement often brings a different kind of complexity.

Multiple account types require coordinated withdrawals. Tax exposure can shift from year to year. Investment allocation must support income needs rather than growth alone. Healthcare, longevity, and legacy intentions introduce additional variables that evolve over time.

Complexity at this stage is not a sign of mismanagement. It is a natural result of success and progression. Our role is to organize that complexity so decisions can be made deliberately and with full context.

Asset and Stage Alignment

We typically work with households that have accumulated meaningful investable assets and are entering or navigating retirement.

Asset level matters, but it is not the sole determinant of fit. What matters more is a desire for coordinated decision-making and ongoing oversight as retirement unfolds.

Our work assumes retirement unfolds over years and benefits from structured oversight and thoughtful adjustment.

Philosophical Alignment

Our approach emphasizes context, trade-offs, and disciplined follow-through.

Investment management is part of the work, but it does not stand alone. It supports income planning, tax coordination, and the broader decisions that shape retirement.

This approach aligns with individuals who value careful reasoning, steady progress, and collaborative decision-making.

Working Relationship Expectations

We move deliberately.

Decisions are sequenced, implemented, and revisited as needed. Communication is direct and structured. Questions are encouraged, and recommendations are explained in context.

The relationship works best with openness to coordination and a willingness to revisit decisions as circumstances evolve.
